What to Pack for a Trip to Costa Rica
When packing your suitcase for a trip to Costa Rica, there are a few essential things not to forget. The only mandatory product is the travel adapter for electrical outlets. In Costa Rica, the voltage is 110 V (in Italy it is 220 V) and the shape of the sockets is different (US type). We recommend carrying a couple of adapters with you to make sure you can use all your electronic devices.

Documents Required for Traveling to Costa Rica
To enter Costa Rica, Italian citizens do not need a visa and can stay for up to 180 days. It is necessary to have a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months and a plane ticket to return or to continue traveling. If your trip involves a transit to the United States, make sure that your passport is in compliance and request ESTA authorization directly on the US government website.

Duration of the trip from Italy to Costa Rica
The journey from Italy to Costa Rica takes about 10 hours. Currently, there are no direct flights from Italy, so all flights have a stopover in Europe or the United States.

You don't need specific vaccinations to travel to Costa Rica.

If you need medication during your stay, you'll find a pharmacy in Potrero, close to the villages.

Participation in Group Excursions
It is not mandatory to participate in all organized excursions. The travel package includes a program that you can choose to join or not. Every person is free to organize their stay as they prefer. The only recommendation is to inform the guide of the program changes as soon as possible, so that they can provide you with useful advice on the places to visit and the best ways to reach them. Make sure to store the number of the Village and the Reference Guide on your cell phone for any possibility. These numbers will be provided in the documentation upon departure.

Communications and Internet Access
In Costa Rica, the Wi-Fi signal is available within villages and the 4.5G network is widespread, with a good signal almost everywhere. Upon arrival at San José airport, in the baggage claim area, you will find the Kolbi office where you can buy a SIM with data and voice traffic for a few dollars. In addition, in the Villages we will offer you the opportunity to purchase the most suitable data SIM with the right subscription for your needs.
